I consider the New Yorker's weekly cartoon caption contest great practice for any copywriter worth their salt. After all, fusing together the perfect blend of inventiveness, insight and

satire is often when the best headlines are made.

UPDATE: I only went and won!!! As featured in the New Yorker magazine June 7th 2021 issue,

the caption above beat 5,372 entrants and two finalists via public vote to be crowned winner.
